On Thursday 2 February 2023, at building D Campus 1, University of Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG), the Industrial Engineering Study Program in collaboration with the UMG Industrial Engineering Student Association held a Student Creativity Program (PKM) coaching clinic for all industrial engineering students. This activity was carried out as an initial preparation before the students compiled their ideas to be included in the 2023 Student Creativity Program. This activity was opened by the Head of the UMG Industrial Engineering Study Program, Mr. Moh.Dian Kurniawan, S.T. , MT, IPM, in his remarks he expressed the hope that by holding this activity in 2023 there will be at least 1 proposal from an industrial engineering student that at least cannot reach the stage of passing funding.
On this occasion there were 3 speakers, namely, Mr. Hidayat, S.T., MEng, Mr. Yanuar Pandu Negoro, S.T. , MLogSCM and Mr Moh. DIan Kurniawan, S.T., M.T.. Mr. Hidayat as the first speaker gave material regarding the stages of PKM and various PKM schemes, including anyone who can be invited to become partners, the amount of funding and credit conversion if the proposal passes to the National Scientific Week (PIMNAS ). Then on the next occasion Mr. Yanuar Pandu Negoro, S.T., MLogSCM delivered material regarding tips on passing the administrative stage, he said that almost 70% of proposals that entered the BELMAWA Information System were rejected because they did not meet administrative requirements which might seem trivial, in his presentation he said there was 10 common mistakes that are often made between the left-right / top-bottom margins are not appropriate, the type and size of the font is not appropriate, the spacing is not appropriate, the writing of references, the number of words in the title is not appropriate and others, where if there is only 1 administrative discrepancy then automatically proposals that may contain good content will be rejected.
Furthermore, in the last session, Mr. Moh. Dian Kurniawan, S.T. , M.T. dividing the students who attended according to the field of PKM they were interested in and from this division several groups were made which later each group was expected to start compiling ideas, looking for members from other study programs, drafting proposals and looking for supervisors so that when later PKM guidelines for publication in 2023, students can immediately step on the gas to adjust their draft proposals to the new guidelines.
It is hoped that with this coaching clinic the number of proposals submitted for PKM 2023 activities from UMG industrial engineering students can increase, and the targets set by Mr. Moh.Dian Kurniawan, S.T., M.T. for at least 1 proposal that passes the funding stage can be realized.
