EXPO of Industrial Engineering Integrated Practicum Products
On Tuesday, January 10, 2023 the Industrial Engineering Study Program held an EXPO for products made by industrial engineering students in semester 3 and semester 7, the students' work in semester 7 was the result of the Business Design Analysis (APU) II practicum in the form of a prototype learning aid for children early age while the work of semester 3 students is the result of the Manufacturing Process practicum (ProsMan) in the form of booths to present prototypes of learning aids from their older classmates.
The purpose of holding this event is to become a promotional media, introducing innovative products from UMG industrial engineering students as well as learning media for students pitching/promoting a product. It is further hoped that the products produced by Industrial Engineering students can provide benefits to other parties, in this case for teaching staff in kindergarten, elementary school as well as for learning media from friends in other study programs that are related in this case maybe the study program Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD).
This event was opened by remarks from the lecturer for the APU II course, Mr. Akhmad Wasiur Rizqi, S.T. , M.T. , in his remarks he explained what fellow 7th semester students had done to create a prototype learning aid for early childhood. In carrying out the APU II practicum, it starts from analyzing consumer needs to find out who is the target market and then deciding what product to make, then preparing a marketing strategy and forecasting the demand for the product to be made, after that planning material requirements, production processes, design factory layout until finally the calculation of the cost of production, the selling price per unit to the calculation of investment feasibility is carried out.
Furthermore, the head of the manufacturing process laboratory at Muhammadiyah Gresik University, Mr. Deny Andesta, S.T. , M.T. , conveyed that the manufacturing process practicum this time took the object of making portable booth products to make it easier to use, namely the products of their seniors in the process of disassembling the booth to promote their products. Apart from that, the point of assessment is the alignment of the concept between the products made by their upperclassmen and the booth design used as a promotional tool.
In this event each group presented their work in front of 2 assessment teams, namely Mr. Hidayat, S.T., M.Eng and Mr. Yanuar Pandu Negoro, S.T. , MLogSCM, 18 groups presented their work and at the end of the event 3 groups were selected which were judged to be the best out of 2 categories, namely the product category and the booth / stand category. In the booth category, 3rd place was won by group 5 with the rain diorama booth, 2nd place was won by group 12 with the cartoon wayang booth and 1st place for the booth category was won by the booth from group 4 with the space board booth. Meanwhile, in the product prototype category, 3rd place was won by wayang cartoon from group 12, 2nd place was won by educative Damar Kurung products from group 14, while 1st place was won by group 6 with a digestive tract interactive teaching aid prototype.
